Landmannalauger to Hraftntinnusker
Go large
In the UK the white wispy things would be cloud, but here they are steam/sulphur vents. Its quite amazing if bizarre for the ground to be steaming. You can also see one of the many snow fields we had to cross coming up. This day mainly up hill as our camp at Hraftntinnusker is over 1000m. When we arrived we could see the 2-3 feet high dry stone walls round the pitches that had been made to protect the tents from the wind. Also there is lots of beautiful black obsidian here, its pretty sharp, as I found out. A fantastic and pretty remote camp. Very nice lamb soup for dinner and a pretty cold night overnight.
