Beneath Biscay

On the level

Fixing a garden stairway. It had been constructed of stone slabs on steps simply cut into the soil with a bit of mortar slapped on the front of each step. They were all pretty uneven, of different heights, with mortar crumbling away, becoming dangerous in places.

I had replaced a couple at the bottom with something more solid and had intended to gradually do the others piecemeal.

I’ve since changed my mind and decided make some formwork and do all the remaining steps together, properly-ish.

So when dusk arrived I went out with a laser distance measurer and a laser level to establish the run and rise. Next step (pun intended) figure out the number and size of steps needed.
