Brownhills Canal Festival
Firstly, thank you for the kind wishes for my birthday yesterday. I had a lovely day and all the better for your contributions.
Today we visited the Brownhills Canal Festival and while I'd expected to post a photograph on that theme, this opportunity was not to be missed. I noticed the old bus dropping off passengers including this dapper gentleman just up the road. I was going to photograph it as it went passed but the photographer was also beginning to walk past and I thought it would be great to get them both in the frame. It almost didn't work as he stopped to let me take the photo of the bus, so I had to encourage him to walk into the frame. A pity about the modern homes behind, but maybe in this age where creative images are gaining more and more acceptance in competitions, I might work something up with an appropriate background.
For your information the bus us a Birmingham City Transport 2222 (JOJ 222), the sole survivor of 100 Leyland Titan PD2/1s purchased new in 1949/50.
