Sunny day

A good sleep despite mad dreams.

Ailie drove over and Mr C took us to the moor gate in the car - the mile along the road and steep hill is still too much for my knee. We had a steady 4.5 miles round the moor and back home the gentle way through the field - we’d been concerned about the heat but it was only 24 (!) and no flies. It was great to have company and catch up with her news.

We met Doug out with his dog - he has dementia and I don’t think he knew me but we had a chat. Then we saw a couple pouring over a guide book so I asked if we could help. We told them about the various paths so that they could make the best decision for their dog which wasn’t happy in the heat. I noticed the man’s accent was similar to a friend’s and asked if he was German. He came from Mainz so he gave me some info about places to go in addition to the Chagall cathedral and Gutenberg bible stuff - the reason I’d wanted to go this last trip but it was too hot. We hope to go next month in the van.

I uploaded my Algeria book to Blurb as it was 30% off.

#2 daughter and the boys are on the Amsterdam to Shields ferry so will be home in the morning. Luke is driving his car home via Dunkirk-Dover. #3 and children got the train from Lille and are now in the Disney hotel for a day on site there tomorrow before Paris the next.
