Lou Bar (Audio Jack)
The nights at Les Glenans are outstanding. There's no shortage of people wanting to chill all night, drinking beers and smoking (did I mention absolutely everybody smokes here?) and generally just wanting to talk to others. Sometimes there's something planned, more often there's not.
Tonight, there was a casino night organized for the juniors which was pretty cool. After they went to sleep, everybody pretty much congregated at Lou Bar, which is what usually happens.
Lou Bar is this open hut in the middle of the grounds which was built by volunteers at the base a couple years back. There's a sound system and a big fridge for all the beers. I'm a volunteer, so I haven't been spending any money for the two weeks I'm here. Except on beer. Lots and lots of money on beer. That's because every night there's people chilling at the bar, just having a good time.
Hence, this photo. I've got plenty of candid shots from the day and night. But this stood out to everybody, because it represents Lou Bar so well. And it was an accidental composition to begin with (until I retook it). Just the audio jack lying on the wooden floor. A metaphor for the open nature of the place and how everyone is welcome.
