Mersea Island 5 Miler

Elaine and I cracked out a 5 mile race around Mersea Island this morning. We were actually signed up to the 10 mile distance (two laps of the island), but didn't feel ready to take that on. It was a really nice race with lovely views around the island. As ever, the best bit was finishing and getting the medal, and there were some brilliant tshirts as a bonus. We came back to Wiv with our cheering squad (Ellie and John) for some chip-shop chips by the river, and watched the F1 whilst Elaine slept on the hard wooden floor. I'm now off to Mum's for an afternoon and night of lounging, lovely stuff.
