litl hikes

The day started with blue sky and sunshine though the forecast was for sunny intervals.

Priorities were to wash my hair and do the ironing. I then made up the single bed with the freshly ironed bedding.

Then a drive to Grasmere. It was only 9 o’clock! I decided on the riverside circuit though photo opportunities may have been better elsewhere. It passes this building, the Workman’s Reading Room, opened in 1873. Now a social club, I don’t think I’ve blipped it before.

In the afternoon I tackled the blanket box in the spare bedroom. It’s home for everything except blankets . . . anything that hasn’t got a home elsewhere. Although I got rid of some stuff a few years ago I knew there was more. Out with calendars dating back to 2017, awards evening booklets from my children’s secondary school and used vacuum storage bags. I’ve kept a pair of curtains, textile art, knitting needles and patterns, tissue paper, postcards, unused vacuum storage bags and a baseball cap signed by Colin Jackson! There were also dice and marbles which are now in a more sensible place.
