Homegrown

Back in the Spring a friend gave me a tiny sunflower seedling. Sonny is now towering over me at 7 feet.

Awful night, up with Dad 7x, each time only for 5mins or so but each time I struggled to get back to sleep. Slept 2½hrs in total.

Hospital at Home doctors came out this morning. With HaH staff, a plan was hatched that has taken all afternoon and countless phonecalls to sort. In summary, for the next three nights the hospital is providing a waking night sitter from 10pm-7am, possibly to be extended a further two nights to take us up to next Wednesday when Dad will move to a local care home for 4wks respite care, with continued support from HaH, so that he can recuperate with 24hr nursing support. The cost of that falls to us of course: take how much I spent on my flight to Iceland and two nights hotel and multiply it by 38!! Now I need to prepare/hide things in preparation for the arrival of the night sitter.

Sunny day of 28 degrees. With the entire glass frontage, the house is like an oven again.
