Busy Bee

It was good to be able to escape the garden work this afternoon and enjoy a walk with B at Felbrigg.  It was 21 degrees and a cool breeze which was heaven after the hot and humid temperatures over the last few days.

After our walk I popped into the walled garden.  There were quite a lot of visitors unsurprisingly, but I enjoyed wandering around with my camera.  I'm not sure what this attractively coloured flower is but I was really trying to catch the pollen covered bee.

Back home, walking back into the bungalow was a bit like walking into a sauna.  We haven't been able to have the windows open as much as we would have liked as the workmen have been arriving very early (7:20am this morning) and we've needed to keep them shut because of all the dust.  All the preparation work has been completed now and today they started to lay the paving slabs.  It's good to see some construction, rather than destruction.

M was at the Langham Dome this morning, carrying out his weekly volunteer 'museum guide' shift.  They held a two-minutes silence in commemoration of VJ-80 Day.  The Dome are holding a special event to mark VE & VJ 80th anniversary on September 7th, see below if this is of interest:
