Can you 'ear me now?

I accidentally left my headphones on my desk at work so my walk home tonight was a little quieter.

Well as quiet as you can get if a city who's population has doubled for month of August.

It was a welcome change and it was quite nice hearing snippets of conversations and the sounds of the city. I felt much more in touch with my surroundings, maybe this is something I'll look to do more frequently.

I'll have to make the pilgrimage tomorrow without an ageing rocker shouting in my ear. I wonder if the novelty will have worn off by then...
