Tourist London
Firstly, thank you all for your very kind wishes yesterday. Yes, today went as well as could be. I caught a train from Winchester just after 6am and walked from Waterloo to St Thomas' for 8am. Sadly, really not much time for blipping, so you get a very well-known view of Parliament and Westminster Bridge - but the air was fresh at that time and the colours sparkling.
The proceedure went smoothly, the people were lovely, and the only pain was from some rather stingy eyedrops. The sad thing though is that for the time being I have a rigid clear(ish) plastic patch over the treated eye which makes it very hard to read, especially with specs precariously balanced on top. Hopefully I will be able to take the patch off for part of the time tomorrow, but not at night or when I'm outside. So that should make blipping easy!
Mind you the shock of the day was one I hadn't expected. K told me not to take my camera in case I got mugged. I disobeyed because J told me last night he'd taken the day off work and insisted he was going to drive into Central London to bring me home. Which indeed he did. But I suddenly realised I have got to that moment in life when you don't tell your kids what to do, they tell you. Oh, dear!
I've turned my comments off for at least tonight, or until the stinging settles down a bit. I'm sorry about that but will certainly be bringing out the packet of stars and hearts for your lovely shots, which I so look forward to seeing each night. Wishing you all a good evening xx
