A day out of the box

What a beautiful day it has been. There was no frost, which was an unusual start. And then it reached 18C. 

We have another day or two of these balmy conditions before it descends back to frosts and single figure highs.

I started the day with a bonfire - burning the rotten wooden sides of several planter boxes I've deconstructed recently. They made a good blaze.

That was about it. I have made further inroads into the book pile. Still taking it easy. 

I have decided to embrace my wibbliness and turn it into a holiday from the garden (more or less). I did say in May that I wanted to try to have another break before the end of winter. This is it.
