Will's big day

I have been looking forward to today, a level results day. Will has been so calmly confident and sure of himself, I thought it could only be good news. He kind of stretched the point a little mind. The UCAS website was available at 8, the college were handing results out from 9, Will left home about 9:30 to pick up his friend and casually wander into college to find out the news.

And of course it was good news, he is off to Cardiff for his first choice of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is all (calmly) happy but hasn't let it change him. After a trip to Starbucks he was home for his lunch and his beloved gang of friends inside his computer games. Some of who live in and around Cardiff. It's like he has had a plan.

My pride and happiness for him took a little hit at dinner time when I asked if the uni had been in contact for accommodation. Of course they had but being Will, it hadn't occurred to him to look at his emails all day. All day!

Anyway, that's all done now too- he got his first choice there too, they now have my direct debit details and he is welcome from 17th Sept.

I have no idea how this precious boy of mine will live his life away from me. I suspect very well but in a way that would drive me absolutely insane.
