Painting with wool
At today's Pitlochry Sketchers gathering I assisted LN who was leading a workshop on 2-D needle-felting (aka painting with wool). I really enjoyed it - LN explained the basics really well and it was interesting seeing all the different interpretations of the same scene. Next week people will work on (re)creating a scene of their own choosing. There were 12 participants plus LN & me *and* 8 other who were sketching in a more conventional manner. It is great to see the theatre being used like this .
I am typing this whilst listening to the distant rumble of thunder - it has been going on for ages and is almost continuous. Fortunately the rain hasn't been too bad locally.
Earlier in the day we also lost power for a short while but this wasn't anything to do with the weather - apparently someone had accidently disconnected a mains cable in a near by street (if the local Facebook group is to be believed).
