The Alhambra Garden in Leeds
In a letting the paint dry break after lunch we walked around some of Roundhay Park which is close to where Stuart lives. He thought Gill would like to see the gardens area which has a Monet Garden, the Alhambra version in my blip, One of the Chelsea Flower Show gardens and one designed and built by the friends of the park. There is also a Canal Garden which looks to be based on the closed off end of a redundant canal - with the lock gates in the extra not far away. Edit: Oh dear, how wrong can I be ….. The Chelsea Gold Medal winning garden, with its 12-foot centre lock gates and mock canal, was opened to the public in 2011. Produced by Leeds City Council’s parks and countryside service and sponsored by Leeds-based civil engineering company Hesco Bastion Limited, this gardens proved big hit at the 2010 Chelsea show.
Thanks to everyone who has called in on my journal this week when I have been not really able to respond much. We are now in sight of the end, putting things back into Stuart's office and generally tidying up.
