Sgwarnog: In the Field

Perched

A baking hot day, but I did get out for a bit of a walk in mid-afternoon.

I tend to ignore the small grass moths when I’m taking pictures, but this one popped up and perched beside me, so I thought it was deserving of some attention.

It was possibly too hot for most of the butterflies, but I did see a couple of Common Blue in the meadow, the first on my local patch this year. Otherwise mainly Large White and Speckled Wood, with a few Small White, Green-veined White, Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown. The meadows are very parched though, a lot of the flowers have gone over so nectar is harder to come by.
