Researching Waggonways

I might have to come back to this as I’m suffering from pre-medication brainfog.

I’m researching Waggonways - an idea that was sparked by the wooden carving which is situated on the reservoir walk at Worsbrough. What particularly interested me was the idea that the local women rode on the Waggonway when they wanted to do their washing in the canal.

So I decided to shop at the Asda garage in Silkstone, where a replica coal Waggon marks the start of the ‘Waggonways’ trail in that village ( more information on the Penistone Archive website).

I also took photos in a part of the village that I’ve never walked before.  A long time ago my daughter rented a house in this street - a little further down than I walked.

Very, very hot yesterday.  I mainly stayed indoors where it was relatively cool.  Though I did do the Dance Lane walk around 4 pm.

I think my medication is getting out of balance at the moment.
