Isle of Wight
Today I visited friends J and G on the Isle of Wight. I took the train to Lymington Pier and had booked an 11am ferry to Yarmouth. When I arrived at the terminal the 10am ferry was still waiting to finish loading. It eventually left at 11.35 and I had managed to get on. (my 11am ferry had been rescheduled for 12.30pm.)
I met my friends and we went to Dimbola for a lovely crab sandwich lunch.
The Dimbola Museum and Galleries was the home of the Victoria pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron from 1860 to 1875. They have lots of exhibitions and have a statue of Jimi Hendrix in the grounds commemorating his appearance at the IOW festival in 1970. See extra.
We also went to the Isle of Wight Pearl but whilst J bought a necklace, I restrained myself.
We then went back to J and G's house for a cream tea.
On arrival back at the ferry terminal, things had got worse. They were running just a one-boat service which meant a crossing every two hours. Fortunately I only waited about an hour and I made my booked train the other side.
