Melting
Its another scorching hot day, with temperatures hitting around 30⁰C (86⁰F). We spent the morning doing things around the house. When I got married, my dad gave me a beautiful wooden blanket box as a wedding gift. It was one of the first blanket boxes he made, so it's a treasured possession of mine. My ex-husband hated it, probably because of what it represents to me. He regularly tried to persuade me to get rid of it (and often when we'd need to move). I never gave in. It did get some minor damage when I lived with my ex-husband, which my dad sanded out today. It looks a lot better now and I've been given clear instructions on how to look after it going forwards. It currently stores some of Little Man's toys.
Little Man had his first speech therapy appointment since the beginning of July, so we went past a supermarket, got some food and had a lovely meal together at the playground near to the therapist's office. We then got an ice cream before we headed to the therapist's office. She was very pleased with Little Man's progress over the holidays.
We came home. Little Man watched some Netflix while my dad went to get a plunger from a hardware shop and my mum had a lie down, that's when I took this photo of the duck in the water. It looks very tempting. I did dinner once my dad got back. Its been a good day, just hot.
