Abandoned

There was a strange noise this morning - which I thought sounded like an alarm, but it was distant, not in the house so I ignored it. When I looked out of the office window before going to walk the dog I saw a car in the lane stuck and then backing down as it couldn't go up.

When I went to walk the dog, this scooter was abandoned in the lane blocking the lane to car traffic. My wife reported it to the police, who came about an hour later - after another car had to reverse back down the lane after beeping for a bit. The police have previously removed an abandoned bike here with a van but the didn't bother turning up with a van today, and just moved it into the gutter so you can now just squeeze past in a car.

I don't know if it was equipped with a delayed alarm and immobiliser and I heard it bleeping this morning or not, but it's now propped up in the weeds in the gutter now. Saint-Malo like to think its posh, but we do have car crime here, and I suspect this was nicked and it just ran out of petrol...
