Deer .. stalking

I've been mostly consumed with reworking the back garden at the moment, not ideal in this weather heaving soil about and building raised beds but "endeavour to persevere" as Chief Dan George put it.
Tuesday eve Jess went to Yoga at Cliburn, I needed a break so dropped her off and went to the Cliburn Nature reserve.
As I drove down the track a Roe Deer crossed in front of me. I pulled up and dived out for a bit of stalking. Not ideal as I was upwind, my Lynx deodorant a giveaway at 1000 yards (other cover-blowing deodorants are  available). I was concealed behind some shrubbery but every noise from a footstep caused the Deer to stop grazing an look up. I got a few shots before the Deer got bored with a chap staggering about in the scrub interrupting his/her grazing, turned and sauntered off.
I did go to the nature reserve but it was quiet and I got the feeling I was being eaten by midges so I cut short and retreated to the Strickland Arms, a fine pub and a celebratory quaff.
