Daybreak

Having a few days away with Mrs L and our two resident grandchildren. The picture is taken from the balcony of our hotel bedroom, grandchildren occupy an adjacent room so we do get some peace and quiet! The location is a village called Coniston Cold - I don't know how that name was derived, in the Yorkshire Dales.

The sheep are kept away from the grounds of the hotel by a shallow narrow ditch, not visible from ground level unless you are very close to it known as a ha-ha, a feature of many large country estates.
