ARNSIDE
First of all thank you all so much for the lovely hearts, stars and comments on my hoverfly blip from yesterday.
Early morning start today, as Hubby and I caught the 7.20 train from Kents Bank to Lancaster. It was such a beautiful morning and fairly cool, so it was gorgeous.
This is a photo taken from my Samsung Phone, I've tried editing out the window reflectionsas best I can. That train journey from Kents Bank up until Carnforth is so gorgeous, especially on a morning like this- the light was glorious - it did make me feel like I wanted to go out with the camera early morning and that is unusual of late. The trains ran smoothly and due to there being no school there was plenty of room.
We got to Lancaster, let everybody who had work to go to get off and sauntered on down through the city.
We were going to go to Bob & Berts for breakfast but I do find the music in there too loud, so we tried the Cafe Dolce instead. It was lovely.
I just had delicious french toast with fresh strawberries, blueberries and cream (no maple syrup for me as I find that a bit too sweet). Hubby of course went for a sausage bap. The coffee was very good, the setting was pleasant, the food good and the service good too, so all in all a pleasant visit.
We then slowly sauntered up to the Breast Care Unit at LRI. We were, as we always are, too early, but no problem we just sat and read whilst we waited. We were seen spot on time, by Carol, who is the Nurse that gave me the bad news and we first saw and she is fabulous.
She was very reassuring but also gave me a good check over. Apparently I now have Lymphoedema in that area so she has referred me to Kendal. I am told it is nothing to worry about and Kendal Lymphoedema Clinic are excellent and help me to manage it.
She recommeded E45 with hydrocortisone for a problem area I've had since radiotherapy. I must only use it for 7 days, so hopefully that will sort that out too.
All in all it was a good appointment. I came away feeling a little wobbly after the lymphoedema diagnosis but also very reassured. I will also be invited to attend an information morning, sometime soon, either in Barrow or over at Lancaster, so I will go to that if it''s at a time when we are at home.
It was very hot walking through Lancaster at 10.30 and getting hotter so we were glad to get back on the train. It rain on time and although busier still plenty of seats.
Now back home and I've discovered that my laptop's power supply has cracked at the entry point and the battery had gone right down to 5%!! Hubby has come to the rescue with masking tape (he loves masking tape for everything) and has also ordered me a new one which should arrive in a couple of days. The Heath Robinson (some of you will know what that means) type repair is working for now and the battery is rising and now at 61% so I will just have to be very careful.
Garron is going to fix this one for me so I have a spare for the future!!!
That's all from me, do take care everyone and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
