Tartan ties

A busy morning shopping with mother in law then looking after my elderly blind aunt followed by a trip to a North Berwick to see and help my mother, now in her nineties.

We went into town but there might as well have been a "car park full" sign at the entrances. Every conceivable space was taken. Unless you were prepared to park at the beaches and walk a distance - not a realistic option for us - we had no choice but to go elsewhere.

Fortunately, a lovely light lunch at Dirleton Art Gallery was the result with easy parking. Afterwards we went into the galley where we saw the work of several artists including some blocks of woven tartan. They are both striking and symbolic of the clan and family links at home and abroad. They are made by Moira Dalgetty based on the Isle of Bute. Some were more uniform in colour but I liked the variety of this one.
