Dolly's Day

CHAOTIC HOTCHPOTCH OF REDUCED ITEMS

I didn't realise the the Mono Monday theme of  " Chaos " would mean that I was going to have a bit of a chaotic day but that's what happened.

I had an appointment at 2pm at the Health Centre in the village to get my Denosumab injection for Osteoporosis.( you may remember I couldn't get it 3 weeks ago because my leg ulcer was infected and I was on antibiotics )   Got there around 1.50pm.  Went to the machine on the wall to check in.  Machine said " there is a problem with your appointment - please see a receptionist ".  No receptionists were on duty as they don't come back off their lunch break till 2pm.  So I just sat in the waiting area until a receptionist appeared.  By the time I got to the reception desk there were 2 people in front of me.  So I had a bit of a wait to be seen.  After checking the computer the receptionist said my appointment had been cancelled.  She didn't know why.  I didn't know why either.  So she said she would speak to the nurse I was supposed to be seeing... and I should take a seat and wait.

While I was waiting my phone rang.  It was the Eye Clinic asking me to make a phone appointment with a doctor there to discuss my glaucoma test.  She was giving me different times and dates but I didn't know if I was free or not.  During the call the nurse I was due to see came over so I had to ask the Eye Clinic if I could phone them back later.

Went into the nurses room and she said she had cancelled the appointment and I should have been told.  She said that after the last appointment when she couldn't do the injection she had phoned the hospital to ask for advice.  They said that because of the long standing leg ulcer and because it had been infected a couple of times the Denosumab injection was no longer suitable.  The best treatment now would be an IV infusion of Zolendronic acid given at the hospital.  So she couldn't give me the injection today.  She said the hospital should already have contacted me ... but of course they hadn't.  She phoned the hospital and they said they would  get back to me.

So off I went not sure exactly what was happening.  First stop was the greengrocers.  While I was in there the phone rang.... it was the hospital secretary....... she said I had to have a phone appointment with the consultant before I could have the IV infusion.  So she started asking me if I was available on different days and times. Of course I hadn't a clue when I was available as I have so many appointments on the calendar and being in the greengrocers isn't the best place to be to sort out a hospital appointment.  Anyway ... I THINK the consultant is going to phone me this Thursday coming at 1.30pm... if I have remembered correctly.  .... but it could be next Thursday or any old Thursday.  I will just have to be available at 1.30pm this Thursday and see what happens.

After that I went to Herons where I got my blip shot.  Its a fixture at the back of the shop where they pack in all the reduced stuff .  Its a real mess and certainly doesn't encourage me to have a rummage to see whats there.  Unfortunately the photo  doesn't really show up very well in mono.  Thanks to jensphotos for hosting the challenge.

Next stop Tesco for shopping and to collect a parcel.  Weather was very warm so the jacket I went out in got taken off before I headed home.

After a sit down and a cup of coffee I phoned the Eye Clinic and made an appointment for the doctor to call me on Friday.    So I think everything is sorted as far as I can tell.  But it was certainly a chaotic few hours and my head was spinning with different phone calls and appointments.  I hope tomorrow is a bit calmer.
