Mono Monday: Chaos
I suspect that there are several blippers (and, I'm sure, one blipper's husband; we're looking at you, Roy) who would be shocked at such a scene of chaos on a shelf in a garage. But here's the thing. It works for me. I know everything that is on that shelf and also on all the other shelves which look remarkably similar. If I need something from the garage I can pretty well go straight in there and find it; I know where it will be.
It must be the way my mind works. I know for sure that if I decided to tidy that shelf up, I would take everything off and put it on the floor, move things around, clean them up a bit and put them all back on the shelf. I'd step back and admire my handiwork and the shelf would look just the same as it does here. But I'd still know where everything is. It was the same when I was working; people would wonder how I could find anything on my desk but I knew exactly what was there and what stage it was at.
The odd thing is that I can also be a bit obsessive about things being neat and tidy in the kitchen; things need to be in the right place and when it comes to stacking the dishwasher there's my way or the wrong way. I reckon it's my practical side coming out; others may disagree. But I'm practical enough to have decided this would do for the Mono Monday theme of 'Chaos'.
