A Round Number

There was a ‘proper’ Blipday less than a month ago so I won’t go full on retrospective again. In any case, as you might have guessed, I much prefer the 365-day anniversaries to the round-number days. And even then I don’t think 5500 has the same excitement as 5000. 

One thing I have noticed is that when I reached 5000 I was just short of a million views and now, just 500 blips later, I have supposedly had more than 1.5 million views in total. I suspect something is awry - maybe it is web crawlers that are triggering the page views? I did think the site could identify them and ignore them but maybe not. 

The views do seem to be spread across all of my blips, rather than increased views on new blips, but I suppose it could be new people going all the way through my history. Seems unlikely that would explain it all. 

It is probably just a helpful reminder not to bother worrying about view counts. The important stuff is the comments, the hearts and stars from the other members of this wonderful photographic community. Thank you all, and thanks to the volunteers who keep it running.
