Monday

We went for a walk late yesterday evening and saw a group seated around one of the picnic tables at the top of the woods.

They called over and shouted Hello and we waved back.

As it's going to be very hot today, Hetty and I went out very early and the four young men were still there. So I went over to chat.

All early 30s and all went to Manchester university together. They meet for a walk every year. This year they are walking Avebury to Glastonbury on the Mary Michael Leyline. Also known as the Mary Michael Pilgrim.

They had camped overnight. One showed me his night sky photos and I was able to suggest possible wild swimming spots near their route (Thanks to many conversations with Kelvin during dog walks.)

Matt turned up last night with a bucket of purple plums. I'll admit to groaning a bit. All I saw was stoning and prepping.

Clive has gone to Cardiff for Steve's funeral. Steve was an ex colleague. His death was a shock for Clive and caused him tears.

As it's too hot outside, and I'm on my own, I decided to make plum jam. I think I've made plum toffee. It's very dark and in 6 jars but I think it maybe just a bit too thick.

And there's still half a bucket of plums.
