Spicy Tomato Relish
In the end, I decided against trying to ripen my green tomatoes but used them instead to make Spicy Tomato Relish. It's easy enough to do - chop the tomatoes and some red onions, add tomato puree (which is why the relish is red in spite of the tomatoes being green!!), red wine vinegar, a gentle shake of cayenne chilli powder and a very little sweetener, then boil it for 10 minutes. Delicious!
And yes, I did make more than this, but the other jars aren't as posh!
In other news, the building work is very nearly complete, with just the en-suite to be finished, and the dust finally seems to have settled, so today I started The Big Clean! For someone who loathes housework (such a waste of time), it's a very traumatic process - so much so, that we've booked a short break at half term -:)
