Porto pest control

A 3am start for an early flight out of Stansted meant we were in Porto by 9am with a full day to explore.   We had memories of our first trip to Madeira with Ryan air when,.just before landing, there was an announcement that due to an incident on the runway we were being held.  We were sat.at the back of the plane and i heard the crew.talking fuel levels and a diversion to Santander.  Fortunately this time we had enough fuel for our wait and only had a few minutes delay in the end.

We dumped our bags at the hotel and spent our first day finding out just how hilly the city is.  Hard work in the heat so pastel de.nata, wine and ice cream definitely needed.

We visited Time Out Market as we had enjoyed the one in Lisbon.  I had an overpriced cheese cone with wine and enjoyed watching the pest controller who was flying a bird of prey around the area to deter pigeons and gulls. They are a real problem here it seem as later we were surrounded by them after the people at a neighbouring table left and their plates were in situ for a few.minutes.
