An ordinary life....

Empire biscuit production line...

Today has been lovely :-)

Leisurely morning then John and Norma arrived just after 12.00.  Alan was very happy to see them (and they him :-)

We headed to Kisa's for 1.00pm and enjoyed catching up over a very lovely lunch.  They were both on good form and we enjoyed hearing about their recent adventures in Fort William.  They had a short break in a nice hotel nearby. Norma lives not far from the start of the West Highland Way so they took selfies at the starting post a few weeks ago, then when in Fort William, took selfies at the end point and have been enjoying telling unsuspecting folks that they've recently completed the West Highland Way!  Not bad for an 89 year old and a soon to be 88 year old! LOL!

After lunch they came back to ours for more chat and to spend more time with Alan.  Norma is losing more memories to dementia.  She struggled to remember other places we've gone for lunch and friends of ours that she's met a number of times, but she faces it with such grace and humour.  She told us a story this afternoon about something funny that happened at the dementia support group she attends.  She got a bit muddled with the sequence of events and stopped to think about what happened, then she carried on.  When she finished she said "I think that's what happened.  If I don't remember I just make it up!" then she laughed loudly.  She certainly isn't losing her mischievous nature.

They left around 5.30pm and D took Lola to the moor while I got the Empire Biscuit dough that I made yesterday from the fridge and completed the task of baking and decorating them.  I forgot to buy glacé cherries but Alan let me have a packet of his giant chocolate buttons as a substitute.

Still pretty full from lunch, we had a light supper of little chorizo and chicken Empanadas with Moroccan spiced couscous.

D now willing Tommy Fleetwood to win the golf and I am about to catch up with journals :-)

And that's the weekend done!
