Small white on knapweed
We went East today and had a wander round Blackness Castle and grounds (extra-top) before trying to get a table at The Lobster Pot, a favourite place of our’s for lunch but sadly they were fully booked. We drove a few miles to Newton and had a three course lunch at The Fat Pheasant which is a new place to us and very nice although I still feel like a fat pheasant four hours after finishing, far too much food, I’ve no idea what possessed us!
In need of a further walk we went to nearby House of the Binns (extra-bottom), for a walk round the gardens where I took the photo of the butterfly. As we walked round the wide swathes of wildflower meadow in front of the house, I wondered what owners from bygone days would think of their beautifully tended gardens being left to grow wild, I’m sure they would have been horrified but I rather like it and so do the butterflies.
Thanks Miranda1008 for WildFlowerWeek
