BESSIE

Not really, but it reminded me of Bessie, The car driven mostly by Jon Pertwee in Doctor Who.

Hubby, Garron and myself decided to go to The Classic Car Show in Grange today. Which was held at the Playing Fields. Due to the sunshine I was suitably slicked up this morning - E45 first, due to my itchy sensitive skin, then a bit later insect repellant (not the smelly stuff) and the Factor 50!!!

Then we spent a lovely 3 hours mooching around the lovely old cars.  From some just about 20 years old to others going back to the 1920s.

Garron managed to find an old Volvo, which was the same model as driven by Roger Moore in The Saint which he loves as well as two Aston Martins.  One was a DB7 (I think) the other a sports car, the one and only Aston Martin Ulster LM16 in existence (LM means Le Mans), so he was over the moon.

I bought a red squirrel calendar for 2026 as I adore red squirrels and the proceeds were going to the Red Squirrel Charity.

The Milnthorpe Steel Band were merrily playing away all day and they are really very good.  We didn't see the Teddy Zip Wire activity sadly that would have been fun.

After a while we managed to find a seat for Garron and sat and had some lovely Lakeland Ice Cream in the sunshine.  It was warm but there was a pleasant breeze so didn't get uncomfortably hot.

In extras is a photo of the Aston Martin LM16, Garron with The Saint car, plus two The Sturgeon Moon apparently was named by Indigenous tribes for the time when sturgeon fish were most abundant in North American lakes, this moon symbolizes resilience, abundance & deep reflection.shots of the Sturgeon Moon which I had a go at taking last night.
