Drought

Popped up to the allotment to check things out and more than a bit disappointed to find the potato patch looking like a desert. Only a month ago the shaws were at their peak and now … well, the spuds can stay in the ground but they’re not going to get any bigger! I lifted a couple of shaws of earlies while I was there though and got a good crop. Might be a different story when I get around to lifting the main crop. Jo had left a couple of marrows in the hut so one is now residing in our kitchen. Stuffed marrow rings or chutney?, that is the question.
Earlier, baked a loaf after giving the sourdough starter a couple of days’ recovery time which turned out fine; started on the new season’s Fantasy Football team selection, spending ages on it and then finding it hadn’t saved properly - not a good portent!
Later, early evening jet-lag kicked in and I crashed out in the chair. Woke up in time to watch a new episode of Beck then retired under a full moon.
