On This Day

Large White

The large whites are all over the garden. Not the most colourful of butterfly but at least they're here. This one was resting on a Japanese anemone - Honorine Jobert.

It's a quick blip from me because I'm soon heading into Edinburgh. I'm meeting a friend for a wander and a long overdue catch up. Then we're going to the Book Festival.

Yesterday's event with Robert MacFarlane was excellent. He's a compelling speaker. Stirling Council hasn't yet ordered his new book for the library so I might pop into the bookshop. Today's is a sort of follow up event with the author Louise Welch. I was lucky enough to meet her in 2019 and found her a delightful, friendly person.

I know I'd have plenty of blip opportunities in Edinburgh today but I'm not even taking a camera. There will be other times and my friend doesn't have a scrap of interest in photography. It would all just be too complicated.

Today is the start of a busy week for me - lots of enjoyable things to anticipate.
