Taking Your First Steps At Root Surfing

Today's image, or images, were supposed to be of "The Amazing Thailand Festival" at the Lockmeadow Leisure Complex in town but unfortunately we got our timings all wrong and it was very quiet with not much going on at all.
We'd arrived in town full of hope for capturing a plethora of colourful and diverting shots but stopped off first for a quick early pint at a 'Spoons and a stroll through town via Fremlin Walk where, luckily in hindsight, my brother managed to get some images of a passing dragon (as you do!) bestriding its main shopping thoroughfare:

However, after we'd crossed over the river to Lockmeadow we were really disappointed to realise, as I mentioned at the start of this blip, that we'd arrived before the festival had got into any kind of swing at all, even though it had already been open for over two hours. Fortunately it's a two day festival so we'll try again tomorrow and time our visit to a bit later in the day.
This still left me without an image and it was only as were leaving the Lockmeadow site that we came across another of it's fantastic murals, which for some odd reason it does not nearly make enough of. This particular one is new and really is a glorious burst colour but is frankly wasted right next to the steps to an emergency exit for the leisure centre. I love all the detail - especially the little guy attempting to surf the roots of the tree with its hand based foliage!
