Neglect

There are some beautiful buildings in Leeds , it really is an architectural dream if you ever look up.

Unfortunately there are a few neglected offerings towards the east of the city centre - it's not the nicest area, around the market, but surely with some investment it could be beautiful.

Look at this building - really look at it. I don't know when it dates from but chances are it was before all of the technological revolutions that we have today. It'll be solid, sturdy and built to last. And yet here it stands, unloved and unwanted, going to rack and ruin.

On the edge of my village some company is building "an exciting new development of 3 and 4 bedroom homes" - why do we need more brick boxes edifices ruining a landscape? What's wrong with protecting and renewing what we've got?

Oh dear, rant over! I've had a lovely afternoon in a Wetherspoons pub (yes really) with my friend Katy, chatting away and catching up on each other's gossip. We've managed to polish off 3 bottles of wine - that's between us, not each, we're not lushes you know - and though I'm reasonably compos mentis, it's getting harder to type accurately.

Bus driver, move that bus are we nearly there yet?
