I am definitely on the mend - but still didn't do much. After Django's walk, I went to Dobbie's to meet a rowing friend who hasn't been able to row for a while due to a broken elbow, therefore, we haven't seen each other for a while and decided it was time for a catch-up. She loved dogs so I took Django too, and after coffee and cakes we went for a short walk.
Back home I cooked an omelette for a late lunch, did some admin, some citizenship test practise and rested. In the evening I watched Robert Macfarlane talk about his new book Is a River Alive? at the Edinburgh Book Festival (extra). I had purchased an online ticket. I really enjoyed it. He was "in conversation" with Cal Flynn whose book Islands of Abandonment I enjoyed. I used to go to many events at the Edinburgh Book Festival, and chaired some, but since the change of staff, I have lost touch, which is a shame. Anyway, now you don't even have to be there in person - of course, it is not quite the same but a great opportunity to hear good talks.
