The Bee Team

Lynne and Deborah came over to support me opening up the hive for the first time this morning.

I wasn’t sure what I would find,  but all seemed to be OK.  There were lots of bees, and we saw brood, larvae and the queen.  Not all the brood frames had brood,  some had just honey and there was no activity in the super I put on last week.

Only 5 years ago there was a tyre swing in this spot under the yew tree at the bottom of the garden.  Things have moved on!  In fact Martin and I are sitting outside, with a glass of wine, enjoying watching bats swooping around the garden.
