Dalek help

Some leisurely reading this afternoon and using the text to speak option on my first generation kindle. While useful and relieves the stress on my eyes; I feel like I'm being read a story by a Dalek.
If I start to talk with you in a strange monotone voice you will know I've been doing too much leisurely reading and not enough of my academic reading.
