Rome

DO NOT come to Rome in August! It’s too hot to do anything and ridiculously overcrowded! We only managed to do the Vatican today. Even then we decided the 90 minute wait for the basilica was not worth it.

Instead we got on one of those hop on and hop off buses and saw a lot of places on that. Even then it was too hot so we gave up and went back to our apartment.

This photo is my favourite picture from today. I love being beside water. It calms me and I think it’s good for the soul!

We’ve enjoyed authentic pizza today and a nice cold beer. Gelato is calling us for desert and then another shower and an early night!

Home tomorrow and I am ready for it! I’ve had a great week in Italy but it’s certainly not been the relaxing holiday I had been desperately wanting after a crap few months at work

My next free school holiday is Feb half term. I’m in. LA and Dallas for a wedding in October and then it’s a Christmas. Where is warm in February? A sun lounger is calling me!
