Playing life by ear.

Parsley seedlings.

I saved some of the seeds from an old plant and now have lots of very fragile seedlings. I have the good fortune to be able to find something interesting to thwart boredom or frustration, which is particularly lucky today.

We had a plan to go for a sail with our second son, his daughter and son. The weather would be perfect today for a swim far out to sea, followed by a sail when the breeze picks up.
First we were asked if 14 year old M could bring his cousin. OK. Then 20 year old V said she would bring a friend. OK.
Last evening L told us that cousin had a visiting friend and could he come too, and also the cousin's mother. NO.
Later that evening it was agreed that L and his kids, my grandchildren would definately come, the cousin and his friend not, but only the mother. WHAT?
This morning after I had raced around making preparations, L called to say that M had banged his big toe, it hurt and the outing was off.
OK.
Unfortunately S has a painful shoulder so we may not go sailing at all.
If we don't, I will tend to the garden and swim later on. There are four Italians playing tennis in Cincinnati this evening.
Life is unpredictable but definately not boring.
Update. We went for a sail, just the two of us, but it didn't last long on account of S's arm pain. No swim either, but we did watch the tennis in the evening.
