OENOTHERS lindhiemen

I planted this GAURA, last year, to replace
some plants by my front steps. This
native perennial has an open, airy form
with these pink or white flowers. It is
native to Texas & Mexico, so is
well suited in my hot & sunny front garden.
This plant is also called Indian feather or
Bee Blossom, is heat & drought tolerant.

The flowers appear most of the year,
but favor Spring. The blossoms are rich in nectar for pollinators & hummingbirds.
The plant is non-toxic to dogs, cats & horses. It’s deer resistant.

PS: The CANYON FIRE that had me anxious, is moving away into sparsely populated country. It has not damaged any properties, & the 5000 acres are 25% contained. The Fire fighters have done a great job, in this steep, rugged terrain, in 100F/37.7C. temps.
Sigh of relief!
