Screamer

In Aussie Rules terminology this action is called a "Screamer".

For the un-initiated. A player for either team kicks the football usually towards his own goals. Any player who catches (Marks) the ball cleanly is called a Mark.

However; sometimes a player will make a spectacular leap over other players to catch the ball.....this is also known as a Screamer or Speckie (short for spectacular).

In this action this is a Screamer from a junior football at our local league today....don't you love the grimace on the player underneath...???
