We're In The Same Boat, Let's Keep It Afloat
On This Day In History
1945: President Truman signs the United Nations Charter
Quote Of The Day
"We the peoples of the United Nations determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has bought untold sorrow to mankind, and to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights od men and women and nations large and small, and to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom."
(United Nations Charter)
Cool! When do we get started?
The world may not be in very good condition, but at least I am. I went for my annual health check this morning and the nurse congratulated me on my weight less - eight kilograms lighter than last year and at 66.6kg (I hope that's not a bad omen), just 1.6kg away from my target weight.
I met another St. Michael's teacher at the hospital. He asked me if I had read my summer reading book for INSET week next week. I was under the impression that the books arrived late so there would be no summer reading this year. Apparently I was wrong, so after the health check I went to school and collected my book which I will now have to read over the weekend. I chose the book about D.E.I. in schools so hopefully it will be interesting.
