Pin-Prick of Blood
The plant, wild carrot, Daucus carota, is sometimes called Queen Anne's Lace, particularly in North America. It also frequently sports a single red floret at the centre of an otherwise creamy white umbel.
The story has it that this is a drop of blood dripped onto the lace from a pin/needle prick.
Today is also Abstract Thursday so I have given it a special treatment to make it appropriate for AT528 - no theme this week.
The unaltered original is in the 'extras'.
