Which way?

This morning I went with daughter and grandchildren for a swim at my health club before it got too busy. They love the small pool there as it is nice and warm and few parents ever seem to arrive before 9/9.30 so we had it nearly to ourselves.

Later I drove west down the M3 and A303…a nice queue at Stonehenge and another queue when people seemed wary of passing a big combine harvester even on a two lane dual carriageway!

I stopped in a lay-by and was dismayed to see how poor the barley crop is in this photo. The ears have very very small seeds hardly worth harvesting other than for the straw.
I may try and stop near some wheat tomorrow. I think some areas have had so little rain but in other areas I’m  told the crop is fine.
