Since I was a child I’ve loved miniature and tiny things. This tiny watering can fairy is one of my collection.

Today’s prompt reminds me of a book I picked up at the airport to go on holiday a few years’ ago. It’s called ‘The Miniaturist’ by Jesse Burton. A fascinating and well constructed novel with a twist and also a deep sadness at one point. This was a first time novel for the author. I couldn’t get through her second book though - I seem to remember it as being morally upsetting and negative and got rid of it. Books need to give me something that touches me in a positive way - that makes me laugh and feel emotions. Books that woo me with their poetical turn of phrase and good English (or French). I do not appreciate four letter swear words smeared unnecessarily across the pages to appear ‘cool’! Look where the word ‘miniature’ led me!
