Fungi

It is meant to be really warm for the next few days so when I woke up to low cloud and mist, yet again, I could not believe it. However, it soon disappeared and it has been sunny with blue skies today, and the weekend is meant to be very hot.

I had a morning of chores - changing bedding, laundry and ironing and then met a friend for coffee in the village which was lovely. I had to be back by 1pm as that is when the V-Zug engineer was expected from. However I got a message to say I should expect him between 3 and 5pm, so that meant I could take Xena for another walk.

With all the rain and cooler weather we have had here, there is so much fungi around. I notice many people picking mushrooms (you are allowed to pick between the 1st and 10th of the month and 2 kg per day). I noticed this one today, it was enormous, about the size of a small dinner plate - and see extra for some Fly Agarics.

Gavin had his scan at Royal Marsden this morning, all was done very efficiently and he said it was all over in about 15 minutes. He had to have a chest, abdomen and pelvic scan using a dye in the blood stream. He is now on his way back to Switzerland.

Tomorrow Meriel arrives from Paris by train, Luke flies in from London, and our friends are driving from London with their dog - who Xena knows well, so she will also have a friend. They have broken up their drive with a few stops in France.

The V-Zug engineer arrived at about 4.30pm, and thank goodness for Google translate so that I could explain to him what the problem was (as I don't speak Swiss German). He replaced two parts and I think it is now fixed!

I started watching Mix Tape last night, and I am really enjoying it.
