Chin-Wag in the Park
I had a phone GP appointment today. Mainly to say that the appointment I had a couple of weeks ago to get photos of my moles for the hospital dermatology department need to be retaken as they weren't done right or labelled properly.
So I have another appointment booked with the senior doctor to get it done again - properly this time I hope.
While I was awaiting the call I cleared and tidied my hobby cupboard and got the spare room bedding washed in preparation for Grace's visit this weekend.
Later I went for a walk around the Arboretum. My plan was to walk to town, get a healthy superfood salad from M&S then go back to the park to eat it and read my book.
As I walked back, I tripped over the uneven kerb on a side street, landing heavily on my left knee and right hand. To make it worse, I fell among some bins which were yet to be taken in after this morning's bin lorry visit. For a couple of minutes I didn't want to move, while I assessed the damage. A couple of people saw me fall, but it being the sort of area it is, no-one helped. They probably assumed I was one of the local addicts that end of the street is known for.
After I'd tested all my joints and made sure they still moved I got up and went home. My leg has some good bruises, and my arm looks normal but feels pretty stiff and sore from the impact. I landed on my right hand but the impact affected my elbow and shoulder too. I've had some Cocodamol which is helping. All I've done since coming home is watch an episode of Vera, eat the salad and drink a coffee, made with difficulty!
I took this shot of the two women enjoying an animated chat in the park. I pretended to be texting and clicked the camera on my phone as I walked by!
